Online sales grow by 1300% with respect to the year before
Spanish Television’s Catalan headline news show, L’Informatiu, has announced the rise in online sales of our oil Terrall from the Sant Isidre Cooperative in Borges Blanques. Compared to the data from the same period last year, sales through the online store have risen by 1300%, an “absolutely exorbitant figure in terms of what we normally do”, as Francesc Vilanova, commercial director of the Sant Isidre Cooperative in Borges Blanques, asserted on the show.
With many customers unable to go shopping in person and with the closing of bars and restaurants due to the crisis caused by COVID-19, online sales are saving the oil season for many cooperatives. In our case, online sales have increased by an average of 1300% if we compare the data from any given week last spring to the same week this year. As for sales from January until now, they have increased by 50% with respect to the same period in 2019.
Thus, the rise in online business has made it possible to compensate the exports and sale of oil in restaurants and food shops which, as a result of the current situation, have been altered. The commercial activity begun at the end of March via social networks has been crucial to expanding our online sales and the home delivery service our cooperative employs.
