Terrall embraces sustainability and goes one step ahead of the European Parliament’s law
The Sant Isidre Co-op of Les Borges Blanques continues to embrace the zero-waste philosophy and leads the way on the law which states that by 2025, all plastics must contain at least 25% recycled materials. In this way, the co-op is incorporating, as a pilot test, the 2 L jugs made from 100% recycled plastic (100% R-PET).
Last year, the European Parliament passed the ban on single-use plastics from 2021 on. Thus, plastic cutlery and dishes, cotton swabs, straws, and polystyrene food and drink packages will be some of the products affected by the new European law. The law, to take effect in 2021, also decrees that in 2029, 90% of plastic bottles must be recyclable and that, in 2025, all plastic bottles must be constituted of at least 25% recycled materials. In this respect, Terrall has decided to move faster than the measures projected and release its 100% recycled plastic 2 L jug onto the market.
